We had been contacted by the homeowner for a general inspection on their roof. They had a few concerns over the age and condition after the last few snow storms. Upon inspection, it was evident that there was damaged shingles caused by wind. Due to the age of the roof it was not able to have repairs done because the replacement shingles would not match and not to mention the roof would need a complete replacement a short time later. The homeowner contacted their insurance company and arranged for the adjuster to come out and meet with our inspector to perform their inspection. Once everything was in place we contacted the homeowner to schedule a date to start the job. Upon the selection of the date, our office ordered the supplies that were to be installed. Next we ordered the dumpster to be delivered first thing the morning of. The crew arrived early and began removing the existing roof and before they started to install the new roof they examined the plywood to make sure it was in the appropriate condition; if not it would be replaced. The work began with the crew installing the drip edge, ice and water shield which helps prevent ice dams that can cause damage to the newly installed roof. Next, they installed the underlayment, starter and finally it was time for installation of the Owens Corning Lifetime Architectural Shingles, ridge vent & cap. After the job was complete the homeowner was very pleased with how well the crew worked and made sure they had cleaned up everything on the job site and most of all they could not get over how beautiful their new roof looked.
