The homeowner contacted us after being referred by a family friend who had their roof replaced by us. When they contacted our office to schedule an inspection they expressed concern that their roof may have been damaged during a storm that hit their area hard with strong winds and heavy rain. During the inspection, we discovered significant wind damage and it was clear they were in need of a roof replacement. The homeowner contacted their insurance company to file a claim. An appointment for the adjuster to inspect the roof was made and we were notified so that we can be present during their inspection to make sure they were aware of our findings. Once the insurance company had everything in place we scheduled a time to meet with the homeowner to pick a color for their new roof and schedule a date to start the work. The date was chosen, materials were ordered and we scheduled the dumpster to be delivered early on the morning of the job. Our crew went in and completely stripped off the existing roof. Once all the shingles were cleared away we examined the plywood to ensure it was in perfect condition to install the new roof. If it wasn’t we’d have to replace the necessary sections of plywood to ensure that the surface was prime condition for the roof installation. First step was to install the ice and water shield; which significantly reduces the chance of ice dam’s. Next, we installed the ProArmor underlayment followed by the starter. After all that had been installed, we began installing the shingles. During the process, we removed and replaced ridge vents, drip edge, pipe boots and any other items that needed replacement. After the roof was completed, the homeowner was very happy they'd received that referral and thrilled that they wouldn’t have to worry about their roof leaking.
